Project: The Anal Probe Meet the Anal Probe: a 1992 Ford Probe 5-speed that is half art car, half aerodynamic modifications showcase. It's a student's winter beater on a mission: "EPA ratings for the car are 21/28 mpg. I'm shooting for 40 mpg with the aero mods and some conservative driving." In the end, he beats his goal handily... and celebrates by giving the car a new, completely different paint job ... and a full boat tail for even better MPG. By Sven7 - 848 replies

Kill Switch (EOC): Where did you install your activator? And what did you use? Shutting off the engine in a manual transmission car while coasting or when stopped (with any transmission) is an advanced efficiency driving technique that can save a lot of fuel. An ergonomically placed kill switch makes the process easier, safer, and saves wear on the ignition switch. This thread shows multiple installations. By myrefugeisintheLord - 202 replies

Modding "The Party" (aeromods on 2011 Ford Fiesta S sedan) Rare are the owners of new vehicles who are willing to modify them right out of the box. This thread documents the addition of a plethora of aero mods to a brand new Ford Fiesta. Its highway fuel economy is steadily improving - now beating the EPA rating by over 10 MPG (cruising at 62 mph with the A/C on). That's better than a Geo Metro! By RiderofBikes - 138 replies

Streamlined Citroen ZX CitroX describes his project: "This was actually the experimental part of my master thesis. I needed to analyse how drag effects a moving vehicle and how it's aerodynamics could be improved. Orginal car ABA testing did 31.36 mpg @ 56mph. Modified car same road same speed but warmer weather did 49 mpg. This mpg increase is very close to the one that was theoretically estimated." By CitroX - 48 replies
