Altered my work route, now is 10 miles, about 15-20 minutes. Route has a big impact on this car's MPG, and the shorter 7 minute route, which I abandoned pretty early on, was an MPG killer. But even the longer 12 minute route wasn't helping, and additionally I was worrying about 12 volt health (unwarranted I think), hence the switch.
A note, early in this tank I had a gas gauge blip where the gauge, in stop and go traffic and hot ambients (95F), without warning "increased" the number of pips to suddenly read as a full 130 miles into the tank. The odometer reading was fine, but the multifunction display mileage zero'd out. This can be an indicator of a failing 12 Volt battery (the Goofy Gas Gauge issue), but I'm not seeing any other issues for now and these cars also can have issues with their fuel bladders. |
