yeah i'm not sure what way i'm going to go about mounting them. Your way is pretty good. I was looking at lug nuts, and some GM cars have 12mx1.5 thread like my honda. There are a few models that actually have external screws on the outside of the lugnut to screw on those black plastic caps.

However it would cost me like $50-70 for the lug nuts and caps, or I could just modify my lug nuts like you have. I'm going to probably take one to my buddy's place and see if he can drill and tap it.
