Denis - felicitations! You will enjoy the Prius.

I have only spent about 30 minutes total driving one, but I found it to be a LOT of fun (in the geeky, fuel saving way). Probably the most interesting ICE car I've tried.

The Prius can be converted to run on natural gas - or biogas if you can get that and use a home-compressor running on PV-electrics ;-)

That's my plan to replace Hägar when his days are over - which could be sooner rather than later : a biogas fueled up! as a commuter.

One year ago a cop explained me that I should make my aeromods having a certificate of approval to not have problem with the insurance in case my aeromods are the cause of an accident.
As I was regularly verifying my aeromods and I was changing the tape before it was needed, I was confident.
He decided recently to force me to make my aeromods certified... The process costs more than the cost of Mégane plus what I saved during last 3 years (see my sig), so I removed rear aeromods lately before having Mégane's replacement.

I replied him that I was going to have her replacement soon. He warned me that he doesn't want me to modify my new car without having a certificate. I replied him that with a japanese (SULEV/AT-PZEV) car I don't need to modify it to be economical and to generate 20 times fewer pollutants than a (Euro II diesel) French car

Once again in France you can do whatever you want as soon as you have money. Others have to shut up and pay, pay, pay...

The prius is at least 15 years in advance compared to French cars. Also during last years Toyota build more cars in France than French constructors

All these events confirm my minds into running away from French cars.

Also the more the diesel is modern, the more it will be difficult to hypermile. I have never been able to reach 67 mpgUS with my wife's 2001 DCI...

Denis.

Oh, c'mon! Bentley is a British car. You don't expect a Frenchman to go that low, do you?

Diesel prices here have caught up with petrol already, last week was the first time I paid more than 300PLN (69 Euros/97 USD) for a full tank of diesel. But at least it lasts and lasts and lasts...

Most of a Bentley is German these days.

This is the only British car at the moment.

and I think its engine is American (and so will probably make something like 20hp / litre, or maybe 30 in "HiPo" form ).

This morning I heard an advert on the radio: "This program was sponsored by Renault, the maker of the new Megane, which can go as far as 1500 km on one tank."

Then I remembered how Groar would easily get 1800km, or even over 2000km, in a much older Megane. Pioneer!!
